for The Kayaker’s Companion to Glacier Bay: Volumes 1, 2, and 3

Downloading any of The Kayaker's Companion to Glacier Bay, Volume 1: Trip Planning and Preparation; The Kayaker's Companion to Glacier Bay, Volume 2: East Arm and East Side; or The Kayaker's Companion to Glacier Bay, Volume 3: West Arm and West Side, hereafter called "book(s)," is a binding agreement to the following terms and conditions. Please read thoroughly before accepting. If you do not agree to these terms, you cannot download, use, or access the book(s).

  • You agree to follow US copyright laws and to abide by protections afforded the book(s) by US copyright. You agree to abide by the applicable intellectual and industrial property rights afforded to US copyright holders by US states, other nations, and applicable international treaties.

  • Defeating privacy and password protections is prohibited. This includes copying, altering, and printing part or all of the book(s) at higher than 150 ppi or 150 dpi without seeking prior approval from the author or publisher. Some properties of these books are protected by passwords. The use of software that ignores these password protections is not allowed unless you agree to abide by the original protections.

  • You represent that the book(s) are for personal use only. All other uses require prior approval from the author or publisher. An exemption is automatically granted to a US government employee who uses the book as a necessary part of their job; all other terms and conditions still apply to US government employees.

  • You will not distribute part or all of the book(s) by any means -- whether electronic, mechanical, or other -- without prior approval of the author or publisher.

  • All rights are reserved. No part of the book(s) may be reproduced in any form or by any electronic or mechanical means, including information storage and retrieval systems, without permission in writing from the author or publisher, except by reviewers, who may quote brief passages in a review.

  • You agree that all quotes from the book(s) will be appropriately attributed to the author. Paraphrased material must also be attributed to the author.

  • You acknowledge that sea kayaking involves inherent risks. Sea kayaking requires common sense. All kayakers must paddle within their ability level and make safe and sound decisions based on a first-hand inspection of current conditions. Neither the author nor the publisher are responsible for a kayaker’s or reader's decisions. Neither the author nor the publisher are responsible for any actions taken or results accrued from the advice in the book(s).

  • Upon failure by you to abide by the terms of this agreement, as determined by sole discretion of the author or the sole discretion of the publisher of the book(s), you will immediately delete all copies of the book(s). Whether or not you have violated the terms of the agreement, the author or publisher may terminate the agreement at any time, for any reason or no reason, with notification by postal mail, other mail service, email, fax, or any other written means, physical or electronic; and upon termination of the agreement, you will immediately delete all copies of the book(s). Termination of the agreement does not preclude the author or publisher from suing you for any damages incurred by a breach of the agreement.
